This development has provided 28 houses for Hanover (Scotland) Housing Association. These are a mix of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom general needs houses, and 1 and 2 bedroom amenity flats. The road layout reflects Designing Streets, with the geometry providing passive traffic calming, and the completed project has received Secured by Design accreditation.
Each house has solar water heating with roof-integrated solar panels to reduce hot water energy demand. The houses were designed to be easy to heat while having large bay windows to take advantage of sunlight and views.
Private gardens and attractive materials are in keeping with the private housing adjacent, and the architectural detailing takes account of the coastal location to minimise cyclical maintenance.
