This project was won in a limited competition. Major refurbishment of the existing annexe provided a new double height disco and bar at ground floor level, with a first floor bar overlooking the disco through sound attenuated glazing, and a basement bar.
The disco was created as a ‘box within a box’ to overcome existing problems with noise nuisance. The design provided an adaptable framework for future flexibility, while remaining sufficiently robust to withstand the annual transformation on “Daft Friday”.
