Homes For Scotland Awards Finalist

19 March 2026

West Dunbartonshire Council’s newly completed Willox Park (Phase 1) development has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Affordable Development of the Year – Small (up to 35 homes) category at the Homes for Scotland Awards.

The £4.45m project delivers 17 high‑quality, energy‑efficient sheltered homes, arranged around a shared courtyard to support community living. Developed initially by the Council and delivered through a Design & Build contract with McTaggart Construction, the scheme demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability and resident wellbeing.

Completed in February 2026, Willox Park incorporates a Shared Ambient Loop Ground Source Heat Pump system alongside enhanced building fabric performance including triple glazing, low U‑values, airtightness, and MVHR. Together, these measures make the development Net Zero Ready and set a new benchmark for affordable, future‑proof housing in the region.

The finalist recognition highlights Willox Park as a standout example of modern, sustainable social housing that places energy performance and quality of life at its core.
